Mission

The mission of The Metzger School of Music is to provide high quality music lessons for students of all ages and at various levels of proficiency. I strive to encourage a life-long interest and participation in music while helping students to develop the skills necessary for performance. 

Lesson Structure

30 or 60-minute piano and voice lessons are offered once a week. Piano lessons consist of warm-ups, new pieces, reading games and review of older pieces. Singers are warmed up with voice building and/or sight reading exercises, and then work on selected songs. Piano accompaniment is provided for all voice lessons. See the Methods page for a more detailed description.

Teaching Philosophy 

"Different Drums for Different Drummers". No single approach is successful with every student. A variety of methods and lesson structures are creatively integrated to suit the unique needs and goals of each student. Whether for a career in performance, professional development or simply personal fulfillment, every student is enthusiastically instructed and encouraged.
